Since opening in 1983, the family-run Gars Chinese restaurant turned out to be an institution in Brighton. The Gars family moved from Hong Kong to Brighton in 1955, bringing with them traditional values, a great working ethos, and a desire to create something that reflected both their journey and their new home.

Present.

Gars is not your typical Chinese restaurant. The Gars family have worked with an incredible passion and love to add a contemporary touch to Chinese classics and create a unique ambience. Gars is all about combining the old with the new, and what better place to make this happen than in Brighton?

Future.

On 6/12/2021 we announced our partnership with one of Brightons most beloved Chinese restaurants, Gars. We love the family ethos behind Gars and we aimed to bring our own influence and ideas to create a new chapter to a restaurant that has been serving Brighton since 1983.

With this new venture we are excited to be working closely with the four brothers that have founded this venue and to add our own design, vision and influence that have already made some brands such as Wolfox, Botanique and Kusaki recognised for.

We will be ensuring that the Gars’ family values, deeply instilled in this establishment, are maintained, and that we can write the next chapter of this wonderful family business together in this new partnership.
